In 1990, Geof co-founded NSM Insurance Group alongside Paul Norman as a commercial property and casualty brokerage firm.

After recognizing a growing demand for specialized insurance solutions, he began building his own programs — a decision that would ultimately reshape the future of the company and the industry. Under his visionary leadership, NSM grew organically and through a series of strategic acquisitions across the U.S., UK and Europe — ultimately becoming a $2B+ global leader with more than 30 best-in-class specialty insurance programs.

In April 2025, Geof led the successful sale of NSM’s U.S. commercial division — but his journey was far from over. True to his entrepreneurial roots, Geof launched Ignyte Insurance, a bold new specialty platform designed to acquire, scale and accelerate high-performing insurance brands in niche markets worldwide.

As CEO of Ignyte, Geof is now leading a powerhouse team that’s focused on delivering global impact. With a growing portfolio of dynamic brands spanning travel medical, international student health, collector car, leased equipment and other embedded insurance products, Ignyte is managing $1B+ in premium and serving millions of customers across the U.S., UK, Europe and Australia. The company is backed by significant capital, transformative technology and deep operational support — and is poised to become a global force in specialty insurance.

Known for his relentless drive and competitive spirit, Geof lives by a mantra he’s instilled in his teams for decades: “Grow, change or die.” As he embarks on this next chapter with Ignyte, the mindset has evolved: “Grow, change… or succeed.” And succeed is exactly what he plans to do.

Outside of work, Geof is deeply committed to philanthropy and giving back. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation, which supports the families of fallen first responders. He’s also an active supporter of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center, Caron Foundation, St. Joe’s Prep, UBC Boathouse, Church of the Gesu and nonprofits dedicated to creating pathways to education, including Mercy Career & Technical School and BLOCS.
